The City Planners tried something new for this feature -- a photo swap! We drew names, partnered up and traded scrapbook subjects for a page or two. Many found it to be a liberating experience. Not only was it a fun way to try something different, it was a free pass to get creative. City Planner Rachael Emmertson said, "I wasn't so personally involved with the memory and that made the page all about the design for me. That was very refreshing." Well, dear Villagers, the proof is in the pudding. It's amazing what a new perspective can ignite as well as produce. City Planner and 12 x 12 scrapper Tracey Odachowski commented, "I wanted to do 8½ x 11 so that I knew it would fit into her albums, and I never do that size. And guess what -- I LOVED IT! Dare I convert to the smaller size? Yes, it was so much fun that I may actually want to do more smaller layouts." Give this a try with a group of scrapbook buddies and it's sure to bring all of you closer. You'll learn more about each other during the up-close and personal time you spend with the photos and stories. We found it easiest to email high-resolution photos to one another, but you could also mail actual prints. Don't forget to send along your own journaling to be incorporated into the design. Or, agree to leave journaling space on the layout to be filled out later. Also remember to take note of layout size preference so the finished page can be added to your partner's personal albums.
