2010 Goals check-in and prize winner!

By Tana | Feb 7, 2010

I used a random number picker to select a prize winner out of everyone who replied to the last post to say she was setting scrapping goals for 2010…  and the winner is:  KRISTA!  Congrats Krista, I’ll be mailing a prize to you this week!

Now that we’re in the second month of 2010, how are you doing on  your goals?  did you check anything off your list yet?  I have one thing checked off and another biggy — finishing up 2005, almost done.  I am so close I can taste it.   I have a mini-goal for February of finishing at least 2 more things on my list.  Wish me luck!

Finishing old projects? Getting caught up?!? New challenge with a prize!

By Tana | Jan 25, 2010

I have never really tried to “get caught up” in my scrapping.  I always followed the philosophy of enjoy the process, have fun, no pressure, be creative, who cares if 1 page takes 2 weeks…  blah blah blah.  Which I fully believe.  But seriously, the kids are starting to wonder why there are no layouts of them in the last 4 years!!  As much as I love scrapping for the myself, the kids are a big part of why I do this.  I am also tired of being a project starter but not a project finisher.  So with that in mind, I made a list of every unfinished and way behind album I have right now and my goal is to get through them, as well as all family photos through the end of 2008.  By the end of this year.  (And there is a tiny part of me hoping to get through 2009 too.)  So there you go.  I said it.  In writing.  In public!  There’s no turning back now.

I am going to get caught up.  And in order to do that, I am going to become a speedy scrapper.  For real.  Done is better than perfect is my motto!  In this quest I will paper scrap, I will digital scrap, I will simple scrap, I will do whatever kind of page I feel like, but the pages will GET DONE.

I put my to do list in this thread that Joy started on new year’s SBR resolutions and I already checked one thing off my list!!

If you need a little extra motivation, and some amazing eye-candy, check out Tee’s blog where she is on a quest to use up her scrapping supplies.  I have shopped with this gal so trust me when I say, she has a lot of fun stuff to use up!

And now my challenge for you…  is anyone out there willing to join me and try to get some old projects finished and caught up?  You set your own goals for the year, post them in the Resolutions thread, and then reply here to let me know.  Simple right?  Everyone who takes that first step will be entered in a drawing for a little prize.

October Week 4 challenge

By mrsG | Oct 26, 2009

Our challenge this week is to journal from someone else’s point of view.  I’m extending this challenge a bit longer than a week to get those Halloween layouts in.  I have visions of a Halloween layout journaled from the child’s point of view.  How cool would that be?  Our challenge runs from October 26-well, heck, let’s run it through our VC, Nov. 8.  Ok, ladies, you’ve got a long time.  I want to see lots of layouts!  Each person that makes a layout for this challenge, posts it in the museum and then leaves a comment letting us know will be entered into a drawing for a prize!

Happy Journaling!

October Week 3 challenge

By mrsG | Oct 16, 2009

Shapes!  In keeping with our journaling challenge for this month, I challenge  you to journal in a shape.  Any kind of shape you want as long as it is “out of the box” for you.  For example, yes, a rectangle is a shape but that is pretty standard for journaling and this is a challenge so I’m banning all rectangle shapes.  Do something different.  Awesome Tana did her journaling in a star for her cute layout.  Ok ladies, get out of the box and into a different kind of shape for your journaling this week!  This challenge runs from Oct. 16 through the 22.  All who participate will have your name entered into a drawing for a prize if you upload to the October 2009 gallery and let us know you’ve done so!  Happy Journaling!

By mrsG | Oct 9, 2009

Our challenge this week is mixing fonts!  There are soooo many great fonts out there why stick with just one on your journaling.  This week I challenge you to use at least 2 different fonts in your journaling.  Upload to the October challenge floor of the museum and let us know that you did so and you’ll be entered for a prize!  Can’t wait to see what you do!  Happy Scrapping!  This challenge runs from October 9-15.
