Recently 3 of our beloved Villagers posted questions in the post office, innocently asking about the April blog plans. Little did they know that simply by asking they would become guest hostesses for the month! But all 3 of them quickly rose to the challenge (we have the best members that way, don’t we?!?!) and our first batch of delicious inspiration comes from the very wonderful Micha. Thank you Micha!

from Micha…
When I first posted on the message board asking if we’d be seeing something new on the mojo blog, I said I needed inspiration and a challenge, so I have come up with just that for the rest of you crafty and clever mojo seekers!
My inspiration from the world around me was my new closet; the color of which was inspired by this IKEA bedding:
So, my inspiration is the color orange, but I didn’t want to use it in a traditional way, for example in a fall or Halloween themed layout. This is the challenge part! Whatever your inspiration (be it a single color or color combo, a design motif, a certain texture or theme…) use it in an unexpected way. For my project I used the orange in a snow/winter themed page, and I think it’s a different and fresh look compared to the more typical blues associated with snowflakes. Because orange is considered part of the “warm” color family, it adds an inviting contrast to the cooler blues in the pics and the background.
Maybe next time I’ll use orange in a Christmas layout…and use red/green for an Easter project…and maybe add some bunnies to a mother’s day card…. So choose your inspiration from the world around you and get creative with how to use it – get outside your comfort zone and let’s see what fresh and exciting things you come up with…I dare you!
Cheers,
Micha
