Oh, seriously? I got beeped? The missing word in the title is a synonym for "odd", starts with a Q, and rhymes with "cheer". Have we really come to that? _________________ --Kim

The forum censor can't "read" context... so it's a bit whackadoo sometimes. Like, when they designed it, they didn't take into account a bunch of scrapbookers who might want to talk about Japanese "scr3w" punches. It's a strict little censor!
You mentioned more titles I'd never heard of... yippee!! *excited*
Thanks again, everyone! We're having a lot of fun with books over here. _________________ Leah

It is strict, isn't it? I just hadn't expected that word to be on the "dirty" list given that its original meaning is so innocuous. I almost want to experiment with it now.
Have fun with the books! I need to get my box of old books from my Mom and bring them home. She saved all the good ones.
I can't believe I forgot one of my most favorite ones:
Sparrow Socks by George Selden
I think it was made even better by my Mom doing the Scottish accent. Some of these books are rather old and can probably only be gotten used, but Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel has won awards so is in reprint. _________________ --Kim

Jim Trelease "The Read Aloud Handbook" is updated yearly, I think. It's a WONDERFUL resource. It's important, I think, to teach children to recognize authors and illustrators and lead to other great books.

Good to know I will check it out for my classroom! _________________ Eileen - energetic , enthusasitic
