Remember
years and years ago when we were in school and we had to make lists of all
the things we were thankful for. My list was something like this...
I am thankful for my
Strawberry Shortcake doll, my guinea pig named Panda, my Cabbage Patch Kid
(Flora Lisa - a preemie!) and my dog.
It's funny when you ask a child what
he or she is thankful for they think of all the toys and material objects
that they have, but as adults I hope that we are able to look into our
hearts and think of what we are truly grateful for. There are so
many little insignificant things to be thankful for. Lately, I
am thankful for chicken noodle soup which I seem to live on for some reason.
(strange pregnancy cravings!) Colette Stucki created a layout that I fell in
love with the second I saw it. Reminding us why we should be thankful
for things we normally can't stand..like dirty laundry! The City Planners
have created some fabulous layouts for you this month. Some of the
journaling is so touching it will bring tears to your eyes. I hope that you
are able to get your feelings on paper for future generations to enjoy.
Think of how grateful they will be to learn a little more about you.

** Special Note - I know that a lot of
you with dial ups find it hard to view the City Planner feature so we have
made the images smaller for you! *Ü* Now all you have to do is click on the
layout to see a larger view! **

Dad & Me By Helen Williams
Note from Helen: I wanted to use
a 30 year old photo of me and my dad, and the only way it would look
o.k. was to play around with a scan of it. This is a very simple
layout, as it's really about the journaling and I like to keep these
very minimalist. When the theme was announced, this was the layout
that kept popping into my head - we don't celebrate thanksgiving here,
so I have made taken my own interpretation of the thankful theme.

Flowers By Amber Ries
 | Supplies: scrapbook nails (chatterbox) |
 | square glass pieces (MM) |
 | fonts: White Sale (twopeasinabucket.com) and CK Elusive (fresh
fonts) |
 | the main photo was enlarged and faded out, the poem was printed
directly
onto the photo and reads:
There isn't much that I can do,
But I can share my flowers with you
And I can share my books with you
and sometimes share your burdens too
as on our way we go
by maude preston |
 | The journaling reads:
When alone, in a dark, isolated place of no hope, proof that someone
is
thinking of you can shed a sliver of light. There may be no words of
comfort, advice, cheer - just to know that someone out there is
thinking
of you, is enough.
These flowers came from Cynthia and Mark, a week after Zane's death.
Physically and emotionally drained, with aching arms and heart, they
showed me that although I couldn't see it, there must still be hope.
I
am so thankful for friends who, although they might not know what to
say, can still show me that they care.
